Job Summary:
Pacific Energy is an Australian market leader in the provision of sustainable distributed energy. We are looking for a talented Design Engineer – Electrical to join our team. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical and project support, including overseeing electrical design, interfacing with multidisciplinary design teams, implementation and testing of high-quality engineering solutions using engineering practices, standards and tools.
This role will also involve project managing, supporting, seeking design optimisation & compliance, assisting with component selection, and developing technical documents. You will ensure all your work, and work of your peers, is completed to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and review technical or supporting documentation and technical specifications, including functional design specifications
* Support electrical design, change management and functionality development
* Perform engineering duties through the entire project life cycle (concept to commissioning), including engineering studies & reports, equipment specification preparation & selection and schematic & wiring design
* Complete design reviews and drawing mark-ups
* Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, on budget, on schedule and safely
* Participate in design reviews – i.e., Safety In Design, HAZOP, CHAZOP, HAZID, CRAW and client design Reviews
* Liaise and collaborate with the Commissioning Team(s) on commissioning activities, including the development of ITRs, ITPs, FAT & SAT
Requirements:
We are looking for someone with a tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and strong experience in an equivalent industrial area. You should have skills in project planning, budgeting, estimating, and cost control for electrical scope. A strong understanding of engineering principles and design processes involved in projects is essential. Experience in managing the requirements of technical persons in facilitating a project (engineering input and the management of engineering risk) is also required.
