Are you a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional with a passion for quality and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment? Our client's Operations, a key business unit within their organisation, is looking for a Quality Coordinator to join their team in Somerton.
This is a agile role where you'll provide high-quality technical support and coordination to the manufacturing and production operations. You'll be an integral part of the Quality Team, supporting the ongoing development and improvement of processes and systems in the quality sphere and providing support to overall production.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Quality Coordinator, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the product meets and exceeds quality standards. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Performing daily Quality checks on operations to ensure product meets quality standards.
- Measuring product using rulers, gauges, micrometres, and electronic inspection equipment.
- Managing the calibration of all measurement tools, including checks and re-calibration.
- Controlling scrap and disposition sheets, and inspecting, testing, or measuring materials or products being manufactured.
- Implementing and managing a tracking system for pipes that require repairs and/or any scrap.
- Working alongside the production team to ensure repaired pipes get back online.
- Having full control of some Internal Quality Testing.
- Organising and conducting marriage tests as per standard requirements, working with Leading Hands to complete tests.
- Finalising and uploading documentation to support testing.
- Assisting with Material Data Reports (MDRs) for the Pipe team and Fittings team.
- Driving the continuous improvement of Quality Management Systems.
- Improving manual (paper) processes to computer/programmable solutions.
- Training shopfloor employees for quality related activities (testing, data collection, and labelling).
- Enhancing the reliability of labelling technology, including printing labels for pipe traceability.
What You'll Bring

Essential Qualifications & Competencies:
- A Degree from an Engineering or Science background.
- Competent user of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Exceptional Attention to detail.
- Ability to self-check to minimise mistakes.
- Ability to engage and build relationships with people across the business.
- Strong communication skills and good teamwork skills.
- Ability to be flexible and deal with ambiguity and change.
- A Learning orientation and initiative and proactive approach.
Desired Experience:
- Experience with a range of software/programmes for data management.
- Ability to read part drawings.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of Quality Systems.
