Join Us as Director of Midwifery – Lead Innovation and Excellence in Women's Care

We're seeking a Director of Midwifery to provide transformational leadership, governance, and direction for midwifery services across the Local Health Network. This pivotal role is dedicated to ensuring women and their families receive the highest quality care through contemporary models of practice, strong frameworks, and a culture of clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership to midwifery staff.
* Support the Executive Director Nursing & Midwifery by ensuring midwifery services are effective, trusted, and sustainable.
* Develop and implement innovative frameworks to support midwives working to the top of their scope.
* Lead the exploration and implementation of advanced midwifery practices, including prescribing, ultrasound, private practice, and endorsement.
* Drive the delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of clinical practice and service delivery standards.
* Partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality, safe, and sustainable midwifery services.
What We Are Looking For:
* Registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and a current practising certificate.
* Minimum 5 years' post-registration midwifery experience.
* Proven leadership or management experience within the health care industry.
* Expertise in leading complex projects and services through extensive change.
* Strong background in applying contemporary management processes in health care.
* Experience leading quality improvement initiatives in clinical settings.
* Ability to manage large multidisciplinary teams effectively.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Experience working with First Nations peoples and supporting Closing the Gap initiatives.
