It remains one of the nation's most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.The Aboriginal Community Mental Health Unit Manager is responsible for the management and coordination of an integrated multi-disciplinary recovery-oriented Aboriginal mental health team including effective access and discharge procedures, rostering, and operational and strategic planning.Community Mental Health Service is committed to the provision of quality health services to the mental health community.

We are committed to developing the highest skills in our community mental health staff through the LHD's pioneering Diploma of Mental Health program, structured workplace competency development program, and supervision programs.Ideal CandidateThis is an Identified Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Position.
Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal and being accepted in the community as such.
Exemption is claimed under Section 14 of the Anti Discrimination Act 1977, and have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures with established links with the local communities.Relevant tertiary and postgraduate qualifications in health service management and/or working towards attainment and/or evidence of recent management experience encompassing human resource management, finance, and resource management or recognised tertiary qualifications in Nursing and current registration with AHPRA.Extensive experience in contemporary community mental health and commitment to management and treatment of consumers with significant mental health issues and disabilities in a community setting including experience in application of the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation.Benefits and PerksAccrued Day Off each month, paid Parental Leave & Annual Leave loading.Opportunity for extra tax savings through Salary Packaging and Novated Leasing.
