ACARA is seeking a transformational Director, ICT to lead enterprise technology strategy, governance, and cybersecurity across our national operations, shaping the digital future of an organisation central to Australian education. In this senior leadership role, you will represent ACARA in cross-government digital, cyber security, and technology forums, maintain strategic oversight of emerging public sector technology, data governance, and cyber resilience obligations, and drive innovative ICT initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, security, and educational outcomes.
About the position
* Provide strategic leadership and governance for ACARA's ICT environment.
* Oversee enterprise cyber security frameworks, operational ICT services, and digital platforms.
* Represent ACARA in cross-government digital and cyber forums.
* Lead a high-performing ICT team to deliver secure, innovative, and reliable technology solutions.
To be successful, you will have
* Proven executive leadership experience in ICT strategy, digital transformation, and cybersecurity.
* Strong knowledge of Commonwealth ICT frameworks, cyber security obligations, and procurement rules.
* Demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice to Boards, committees, and senior executives.
* Proven experience with ICT budgeting, financial management and procurement activities.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and team leadership skills.
