Our Hervey Bay (Qld) laboratory is currently seeking an Experienced Laboratory - Field Technician (Construction Materials Testing) with a keen interest in quality service, working as part of a team, long-term employment, ongoing development, and the opportunity to complete company-funded formal training (Certificate to Advanced Diploma level). Please note, this role may require working at locations where overnight or multiple nights away from home may be required.
About the role
As an Experienced Laboratory - Field Technician you will be committed to providing a quality service to our clients and to working within a team environment alongside industry experts and Trainees. You will work under the guidance and support of the Laboratory Manager. The position will require you to undertake both field and laboratory testing across our full scope of accreditation for materials testing in accordance with AS1289, DTMR, AS1012 & AS1141. This will also need to be done in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and the company policy & procedures. From preparing samples in the laboratory to testing on major infrastructure projects to managing a laboratory, we are dedicated to fostering a culture of integrity, diligence, and high performance, as we understand the critical role that materials testing plays in ensuring successful construction outcomes. Our clients trust us to provide them with the peace of mind they need to manage construction risk effectively.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:
* 2+ years' experience in laboratory and field testing in soils, aggregates and/or concrete to relevant standards (AS1289, AS1141, AS1012, DTMR)
* Current Australian Driver's licence
* Sound level of computer skills (including Microsoft Office)
* Capable of undertaking physical work and lifting heavy loads for extended periods (repeatably)
* Commitment to quality and safety
* Excellent communication and time management skills
* Current NDM Radiation licence (preferred but not necessary)
* Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening
* Nuclear Gauge Licence - advantageous
