Senior Clinician Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated senior clinician to provide acute community assessment and treatment for people in the acute phase of their mental illness and/or alcohol and other drug (AOD) use. Additionally, you will demonstrate leadership in both the ongoing development of the acute intervention service and day-to-day operations of the team.
Main Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments for individuals rated by Triage as Category B (CAT B) or Category C (CAT C) within the 16-65 age range.
* Deliver brief interventions to consumers requiring tertiary mental health treatment for up to a maximum of 28 days where consumers are in an acute phase of their illness, are not otherwise engaged with community mental health services, and are aged 16-65.
* Provide post-follow-up phone calls to consumers who have left the Emergency Department after assessment and are not referred to other tertiary mental health services.
About You
This role requires a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, or Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience in acute mental health and AOD assessment and treatment. The successful candidate must possess advanced clinical skills in the assessment and treatment of people with acute mental health and substance use disorders in a community setting.
