The role will be office-based in Perth but you will also be expected to attend training sessions, press conferences and matches. You will need to have a flexible approach to working, as the role involves working when sports news happens, which often means weekends. If you live and breathe sports - this is for you. It's expected you're a team player - willing to work collaboratively with the News Director, Sports Editor, Chief of Staff and others within the newsroom to produce the best sports coverage possible. 
Day to day you will: 
Identify and react to breaking stories, issues and trends with smart and engaging ideas within local, state, national and international sport 
Have your finger on the pulse of everything that is happening in sport, to ensure the best content is covered daily. 
Monitor social media and online networks for trending stories 
Deliver to tight deadlines 
Provide innovative ideas for compelling storytelling across television and digital 
Cultivate a robust network of sports contacts 
Perform other duties as reasonably required
