This is a full-time position with annual salary set between $70,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience.The position is located in Springvale, Victoria and service Springvale, Victoria and surrounding area.The ResponsibilitiesYour tasks will consist of:Read and interpret blueprints/drawings to determine the specifications and materials required for a projectUse straightedges, rules, and staked lines in laying out a foundation or wall patternMix specified proportions of cement, sand, and water to obtain grout used in fusing stone pieces togetherLay and align stones according to set construction plans and specificationsPre-cut stones and other types of building blocks in mortar to construct and repair walls, partitions, arches and other structures, and cut and shape hard and soft stone blocks and masonry slabs for the construction and renovation of stone structures and monumental masonryApply and spread mortar on slabs/surfaces using a trowelCut, shape, and smoothen rock materials using abrasive saw and power grindersOperate cranes, hoists and other lifting equipment in moving monument sections from truck bed onto the foundationPosition construction forms or mould along the guidelines of wallsLine mould interior with treated paper and fill with composition-stone mixtureConstruct and install prefabricated stone carvings/masonry units for buildingsUse pick and shovel to dig trenches or holes for monument foundationSet and verify the vertical and horizontal alignment of structures with the aid of levels and plumb bobUse tucker point to smoothen mortar in order to achieve an attractive finishReplace defective or missing masonry units on walls or floorsCarry out repairs on cracked or chipped stone carvingsThe Requirements:To be considered for the position you must meet the following requirements:At least 3 years' relevant Stonemasonry experience in a professional roleHolds Excavator and Skid steer license (preferred)Have own tools to use on siteHold a White CardAbility to read technical plansAbility to work carefully and accuratelyAbility to work in a team and can take directionAble to work at heights and outdoorsStrong work ethic and ability to work autonomouslyProven track record of reliability - references requiredDemonstrated knowledge of the best safe work practices
