About the Role
At our Curragh Complex near Blackwater, Operational Technology underpins every aspect of how we mine, process and move coal.
We are seeking a Superintendent Operational Technology to lead the delivery, reliability and evolution of all site based OT systems. Reporting to the Manager Engineering, you will provide leadership across Specialist OT Operations, Automation and Control Systems, and OT Networks and Data Engineering.
This is a senior, site based leadership role with accountability across the full lifecycle of operational technology, from design and implementation through to maintenance, compliance and continuous improvement. Your focus will be on ensuring critical systems are reliable today while preparing the site for future operational and digital requirements.
Your role will be interesting and varied and will include:
* Leading the performance, reliability and sustainability of all site OT systems
* Providing leadership to OT Operations, Control Systems and OT Network teams
* Managing vendors and contractors to deliver safe, compliant and fit for purpose solutions
* Ensuring compliance with state mining legislation and automated systems requirements
* Leading risk assessments and critical control management for OT systems
* Overseeing upgrades, changes and lifecycle planning across SCADA, PLCs, networks and communications systems
* Partnering closely with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams to align technology with production needs
* Driving continuous improvement, innovation and capability uplift across OT systems and teams
Your work will directly impact production reliability, safety outcomes, system resilience and the effectiveness of site operations.
About You
You are a practical, technically strong leader who understands operational environments and the realities of site based technology. You are comfortable working hands on with teams while providing clear strategic direction and governance.
Key to your success will be your:
* Extensive experience in operational technology, automation or control systems in mining or heavy industry
* Strong understanding of OT networks, control systems, radio and production systems
* Proven leadership experience developing technical teams and managing contractors
* Ability to balance system reliability, risk, compliance and continuous improvement
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills across operations, maintenance and engineering
