The Team
Our Insurance & Health team is headed up by 32 industry leading principals across six states. Within the insurance space our award-winning team is known for producing high quality advice and delivering exceptional client service. The team handles claims across all major classes of insurance and acts for the biggest names in the insurance industry, both locally and overseas. The principal heading up the Hobart team is Alison Hay.
The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate / Special Counsel to join our team in Hobart on a full-time or part-time basis. The role will involve defending a variety of claims brought against directors, officers and companies, and professionals across the construction, financial services, property, and allied health industries. The role includes litigating liability claims involving non personal injury claims. This role could also be based in our Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane office.
The Successful Candidate
We would love to hear from you if you have the following skills, experience and attributes:
* previous defendant insurance experience;
* strong commercial litigation experience with a desire to do defendant insurance litigation work;
* strong personal injury litigation experience with a desire to delve into liability claims involving professionals and property damage.
* ability to build strong client relationships with a focus on client service;
* effective communication skills;
* ability and enthusiasm to mentor junior practitioners; and
* collaborative and pragmatic approach.
