About the Role
The Cook plays a key role in delivering high‐quality food and exceptional service. Working closely with the Head Chef and Management, this role is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes to a high standard while maintaining a safe, efficient, and hygienic kitchen environment. The Cook also supports kitchen operations, contributes to a positive team culture, and ensures all food handling and safety procedures are consistently followed.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, cook, and serve food to quality standards.
* Assist with food preparation across kitchen stations.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic workspace.
* Operate kitchen equipment and dishwashing areas.
* Minimise wastage and check ingredient quality.
* Follow all SOPs, hotel policies, and OH&S guidelines.
* Support training and supervision of staff when required.
* Maintain professional grooming and positive team relationships.
* Monitor stock levels and ensure proper food storage.
* Complete additional tasks as directed by Management.
Skills & Experience
* Experience in a commercial kitchen or similar cook role.
* Strong food preparation and safe‐food‐handling knowledge.
* Understanding of kitchen hygiene and OH&S standards.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast‐paced environment.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Reliable, organised, and able to follow instructions.
* Willingness to learn and support training of others when needed.
