General Hand – Manufacturing & Mining Equipment Support
Join our Operations team as a General Hand, supporting the manufacturing, assembly and refurbishment of mining assets and equipment. This hands‐on role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, working with tools and machinery, and contributing to a safe and efficient production environment.
About the Role
As a key support role within the workshop, you'll assist tradespeople across fabrication, assembly and packing activities. You will operate machinery and tools, prepare materials, complete pre‐start checks, help maintain a clean and organised work area, and ensure finished products are correctly packed for transport. Your work will directly contribute to meeting customer requirements and maintaining high quality production standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support
Safely operate workshop machinery, tools and equipment (e.g., hydraulic press, rollers, stud guns, grinders, welding machines)
Perform pre‐operational inspections and pre‐start checks
Read and interpret technical drawings to ensure work meets specifications
Assist tradespeople with fabrication, assembly and installation tasks
Pack finished orders and assist with unloading containers
Maintain tidy work areas and conduct minor equipment maintenance
Quality & Documentation
Assist with QA documentation and accurate record‐keeping
Support reporting requirements and contribute to continuous improvement
Safety & Compliance
Follow all PPE, SWP, JHA and safety requirements
Identify and report hazards, non‐conformances or equipment faults
Maintain strong housekeeping and support HSEQ compliance initiatives
General
Perform other duties as required to support production and operational needs
What You'll Bring

Reliable, self‐motivated and adaptable
Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a small team
Able to work with minimal supervision
