We are now seeking an experienced Mechatronics Engineer to join the forensic engineering team. The role will be based in Scoresby and will involve travelling to various locations across Victoria and at times interstate for investigations. The Position Reporting to the department General Manager, this role will be responsible for the following: Providing advice and guidance on mechanical, electronic and electrical engineering related matters Undertaking forensic failure and accident investigations, including inspections and root cause analysis within areas of technical knowledge Conducting on-site testing, such as condition monitoring and forensic investigations both locally and interstate as required Preparing and reviewing written reports for clients Engaging with clients both prior to, during and post job completion Developing test procedures for both internal and external purposes Performing a variety of mechanical and electronic testing Developing an ongoing working relationship with all relevant clients, organisations and individuals Development, integration, and implementation of new products from design through to commercialisation Identifying existing solutions and researching novel ones Contributing to relevant grant applications / business reporting The Ideal Candidate… The ideal candidate must have the following: An undergraduate degree in Mechatronics Engineering, recognised in Australia A minimum of 2 years of experience in either design, manufacturing, quality assurance, engineering consulting, testing, infrastructure, or asset management Experience in root cause analysis and/or failure analysis is desirable Experience producing quality technical reports in a timely manner Have a curious, analytical, practical and hands-on approach Willingness to learn and develop new skills Be proficient in the use of MS Office software and cloud-based CRM applications Be personable and have well-developed communication skills (both oral and written) Be customer service focused – including being capable of answering clients' technical questions and interacting with the public Willing and able to travel locally and interstate to conduct on-site testing Be positive, have a strong work ethic and enjoy collaborating with professional peers Have a current Australian driver’s license Must have Australian working rights The Benefits Some of the benefits of working for this company include: Permanent position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
