CHEF / COOK – Full Time Opportunities
Location: Plainland, QLD
Venue: Golden Lor Chinese Restaurant
Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 (varies according to experience and position)
Golden Lor Chinese Restaurant is seeking experienced and motivated Chefs and Cooks to join our kitchen team. We are an established Chinese dining venue known for delivering traditional dishes using fresh ingredients and authentic cooking techniques.

Chef – Key Responsibilities
* Planning and preparing Chinese cuisine including wok dishes, noodles, rice dishes, seafood, meat and vegetable specialties
* Contributing to menu development and preparation of daily specials
* Supervising kitchen operations during service to ensure quality and consistency
* Monitoring food preparation, portion control and presentation standards
* Training and supervising cooks and kitchen hands
* Managing stock ordering, inventory control and food storage
* Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards
* Controlling food costs and minimising wastage
* Maintaining an organised, safe and efficient kitchen environment
Cook – Key Responsibilities
* Preparing and cooking Chinese dishes including stir-fries, fried rice, noodle dishes and meat or vegetable meals
* Preparing ingredients including cutting, marinating and portioning meats and vegetables
* Cooking meals according to established recipes and kitchen standards
* Assisting chefs with food preparation and kitchen workflow during service
* Monitoring cooking times, temperatures and presentation of dishes
* Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organisation
* Following food safety and hygiene procedures at all times
* Assisting with stock rotation, storage and inventory control
* Receiving and storing deliveries according to food safety requirements
Skills and Experience
* Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent industry experience (at least Diploma level for Chefs and Cert IV for Cooks)
* at least 1 year of previous experience working in a commercial kitchen environment
* Knowledge of Chinese cuisine and wok cooking techniques is advantageous
* Understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen compliance standards
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
* Strong teamwork, communication and organisational skills
* Ability to maintain consistency, quality and attention to detail during busy service periods
* Reliable, motivated and committed to maintaining professional kitchen standards
