Full‐time, fixed‐term position for 6 months at the Rural Clinical School, Rockhampton Hospital. Base salary ranges from $95,361 to $102,302 plus 17% super (HEW Level 6). This is an identified s25 position open exclusively to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates as a genuine occupational requirement.

About This Opportunity
This opportunity contributes directly to the future of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander medical education at The University of Queensland. Based in Rockhampton, the role supports the Medical School Growth Strategy, focusing on the CQ‐WB Regional Medical Pathway. Working closely with Indigenous academic and engagement leaders, you will provide culturally grounded advice, advocacy and support across the student lifecycle and play a key part in positioning UQ as the first choice for Indigenous students.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and sustain partnerships with schools, TAFE, VET providers, regional universities, health services, and community organisations to strengthen Indigenous pathways into medicine.
* Support Indigenous prospective and enrolled medical students through admission pathways, transition, academic progression and wellbeing, acting as a trusted point of contact.
* Design and deliver outreach, leadership, mentoring and engagement initiatives that foster aspiration, belonging and student success within the MD programme.
* Provide high‐quality administrative and coordination support to teaching, scholarships and community engagement activities across the regional medical pathway.
About You
The position is exclusively open to Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. Desired qualifications include:
* Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in student support, education, community engagement or a related field, with the capability to operate across secondary, tertiary and community environments.
* High‐level written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to confidently present, facilitate workshops and engage with diverse audiences.
* Demonstrated experience supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and/or students from diverse backgrounds, applying culturally safe, respectful and responsive approaches.
* Strong organisational capability, with experience planning, designing and delivering engagement, mentoring or outreach programmes, and the ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team.
* Proven ability to build and sustain positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including students, families, schools, health services, university colleagues and community partners.
