The Library provides information resources and services to support the academic community's learning, teaching, and research. It offers students and staff professional, engaging assistance, helping them develop skills to navigate today's information landscape. The library also supports study and research through curated collections, training, and an environment conducive to work.
Your New Role
The Library Assistant supports the Library and Knowledge Services team in maintaining, organising and administering library resources. This role involves a range of tasks to ensure the collection remains current and accessible for the University's teaching, learning, and research needs.
Your key responsibilities will include –
* Handle information desk and rover duties, assist with enquiries, self-service activities, and maintain service records
* Ensure tidy, safe spaces; report facilities issues; manage collections through shelving, retrieval, and routine check-ins
* Uphold library security, assist in emergencies, support team members, and perform other duties as required

This casual role attracts a competitive casual rate of $38.55 p/hr – $39.70 p/hr inclusive of 25% casual loading plus 12% employer superannuation contributions.

What you'll bring to the role:
* Completion of Year 12 or equivalent combination of relevant experience and training
* Ability to work rostered hours, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends
* Strong interpersonal skills to deliver quality service and communicate effectively with diverse client groups
* Capable of working collaboratively and independently, including without direct supervision
* Proficient in IT applications (Microsoft Office, online resources, mobile technologies) with attention to detail and accuracy
