About The Role

As a Database Administrator at Australian Retirement Trust, you'll play a critical role supporting enterprise database platforms that underpin key business and regulatory initiatives, including the Payday Super project. Working within a highly collaborative technology environment, you will help ensure the availability, performance and reliability of ART's database services.
Key Responsibilities Include
Provide day-to-day administration and operational support for enterprise Microsoft SQL database environments, ensuring high availability and performance
Support out-of-hours job stream processing, including active participation in a 24/7 on-call roster rotation
Manage and support SSIS packages, including monitoring, troubleshooting and optimisation
Proactively identify, prioritise and resolve database incidents and issues in collaboration with internal technology teams
Participate in incident and "war room" environments, providing clear technical input and timely resolution
Support database changes, deployments and enhancements in line with ART's change management processes
Monitor system health, performance and capacity, taking action to prevent issues before they impact the business
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including documentation, automation and operational best practices

About You
It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:
Demonstrated experience working as a Microsoft SQL Database Administrator in a complex, enterprise environment. Including clustered environment. 5 years +
Hands-on experience with SSIS, including job scheduling, monitoring and troubleshooting (essential)
Experience supporting out-of-hours processing and participating in on-call support rosters
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise and resolve issues under pressure
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Proven ability to work effectively in team-based environments, including incident or war-room scenarios
A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to respond to changing priorities and operational demands
Experience in financial services or regulated environments (desirable, but not essential)
Active batch scheduling experience (desirable, but not essential)
Microsoft SQL Server MCDBA Certification (desirable, but not essential)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
