About the Role Yarrabee Mine is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior HR Advisor to join the team.
Reporting to the HR Manager, this critical role partners closely with frontline leaders to deliver both strategic and operational HR support, drive a high-performance culture and embed the values of the Yarrabee Way and Yancoal Our Way across the site.
As a trusted advisor to frontline leaders, you will play a hands-on role in supporting and coordinating key HR initiatives across the full employee lifecycle.
This includes case management, leadership development, employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
You will provide practical coaching to leaders, support the resolution of employee and industrial relations matters and contribute to the implementation of HR strategies that support continuous improvement and alignment with the site's Plan on a Page.
This is a fast-paced, operational role suited to someone who enjoys variety, values strong relationships and is comfortable working through complex and sensitive matters with professionalism and sound judgement.
This position is offered as an 18-month fixed term contract, based onsite at Yarrabee Mine.
About You You're a people-focused HR professional with strong communication skills and a proven ability to influence and coach leaders at all levels.
You thrive in operational environments and are passionate about building leadership capability, driving positive culture and delivering HR outcomes that make a genuine difference.
You bring demonstrated experience managing complex employee and industrial relations matters, including investigations and disciplinary processes and apply a strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and Black Coal Award in practical, day-to-day HR decision-making.
You are known for your collaborative approach, sound judgement, and ability to build trusted relationships across the business.
To Succeed in This Role, You Will Have: A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline (or equivalent HR experience).
A minimum of 6 years' HR generalist experience, ideally within mining, energy or a similar operational or industrial environment.
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience across: Employee lifecycle management (onboarding, offboarding, internal movements).
Coaching and advising frontline leaders on performance, conduct, and leave matters.
Managing employee relations and industrial relations matters, including investigations and disciplinary processes.
Driving employee engagement, cultural initiatives, and wellbeing programs.
HR data analysis and reporting to support workforce planning and strategic decision-making.
A strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and Black Coal Award.
Exceptional relationship-building skills, with a collaborative and influential approach.
High attention to detail, with strong written communication, reporting, and analytical capabilities.
Previous experience with SAP, SucessFactors and high proficiency in Microsoft Office (highly regarded).
A current driver's licence.
