Overview

2026 Livestock Development Program - Mareeba at Nutrien Ag Solutions. Based at the Mareeba branch, the 2026 Livestock Career Development program will provide the skills and training needed to be a future leader or technical expert within the Livestock Industry. The program is designed for top talent to gain valuable experience in all aspects of Livestock activity while completing an in-house Certificate in Livestock Marketing.

The 24-month program (roles are all permanent) involves four leadership and skill-building workshops, on-the-ground training, and mentorship. Trainees will work in both saleyard and branch environments, learning effective selling and relationship-building techniques with guidance from experienced livestock staff and leaders.

- Placement mobility after the 24-month program concludes; you may be required to or have the opportunity to move locations to maximize your experience
- Business skills – compliance, sales and client relationship building, communication, marketing and social media, understanding finance, problem solving, and negotiation; and leading and managing a team
- Livestock skills – stock and station agency skills, livestock productivity, animal health and nutrition, Auctions Plus, auctioneering, wool technical and market requirements, and emerging technology

Who we’re looking for

To be considered for the 2026 Livestock Career Development Program you will have a strong desire to learn and succeed in the Livestock industry, excellent customer service skills and strong negotiation abilities. In addition, you will demonstrate:

- Successful completion of Year 12
- Minimum 24 months experience in the Agricultural industry, ideally within Livestock
- Willingness to relocate at the conclusion or throughout the program
- Australian or New Zealand citizen, or Australian permanent resident (temporary VISA holders are not eligible)
- Vaccinated or willing to receive the Q Fever vaccination
- Ability to work in a team
- Willingness to learn, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and leadership potential
- Genuine interest in and desire to work and learn about the Livestock Industry

Successful applicants will be offered a position commencing in February 2026 (noting November as the starting period).
