The Role
The role of the Information and Records Management Officer enables the delivery of the Cargo Helicopter Systems Program Office (CHSPO) and the Uncrewed Aircraft Systems Program Office (UASPO) capabilities through ensuring accurate management of Defence information and records.
The Information and Records Management Officer will work within the Business Management Unit (BMU) team and is responsible to the Office Manager to efficiently facilitate information management practices. The duties of an Information and Records Management Officer include the following:
* Develop and manage record management monitoring schedules with a focus on compliance.
* Research governance requirements and maintain currency and integrity of information and record management systems.
* Perform information and records management activities in accordance with relevant legislative and Defence policies and procedures.
* Maintain security classified information material in accordance with Defence requirements.
* Deliver projects to migrate legacy documentation.
* Develop and deliver related training within CHSPO and UASPO.
This role has been identified as requiring access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) controlled technology. The ITAR is United States (US) law which regulates Defence articles, including technical data, and defence services on the United States Munitions List. Access restrictions may apply on the basis of currently held/previously held citizenship, as well as current permanent residency. Defence may be able to utilise workforce exemptions to mitigate these restrictions, which generally requires that applicants provide details of all current citizenships and permanent residencies, as well as previously held citizenships. Defence collects these details to confirm an applicant's eligibility for the role and to maintain compliance with international obligations.
About our Team
The Business Management Unit is responsible for the delivery of Corporate Services and in conjunction with Branch, People and Workforce Management functions across the Program Office. We are accountable for the delivery of, and coordination of corporate support services across our multiple work locations.
Corporate Services performed by the BMU comprise Logistics Governance and Assurance, and Business Governance and Assurance (which is further broken down into the areas of Information and Records Management, internal Financial Management, Workforce Management, Security, WHS & Risk Management).
