**About Us**:
Established in 2003, Alliance Geotechnical provides cutting-edge specialty consultancy and testing services on large scale civil and infrastructure projects. Over the last 8 years we've grown 5 times, from 20-100 employees and we now work on a diverse range of signature projects with blue-chip clients such as Acciona, Ausgrid, Jemena, CPB and Gamuda. For example, we've worked on projects in the Sydney Opera House, Westconnex Link Tunnel, Parramatta Light Rail, Sydney International Speedway and solar farms across Australia, to name just a few. In 2015 we opened our specialty geo-testing laboratory which liaises with universities to provide state-of-the art testing for Tier 1 companies and which has the best equipment in Australia.

Yet none of this would have been possible without our amazing, diverse team, including more than 27 different nationalities. People like our lab technician who in just five years became a senior engineer, overseeing a team of 11. Or our engineer who switched to environmental consulting and now runs our Environmental Operations team of 20 people. **About the Role**:
Part of the Laboratory Department, the team ranges in experience from trainee technicians to respected industry veterans, and we're currently expanding to support the continued rapid growth of our business.

Some of the tasks include:

- Prepare materials for experiments.
- Gather samples and relevant data for analysis.
- Perform both fieldwork and laboratory-based experiments, tests, and analyses.
- Present findings by creating maps, charts, diagrams, sketches, and detailed reports.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations and measurements to support lab work.
- Monitor and maintain the quality and quantity of lab supplies by testing samples and tracking inventory usage.
- Calibrate, check, and maintain lab equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Assist in designing, installing, and modifying lab equipment to meet critical specifications.
- Training of technicians on best practice measures and proficiency guidelines.

**To be successful you will need**:

- A minimum of 2 years of experience
- Strong knowledge of Australian Test Methods
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual handling
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivation with the ability to work with mínimal supervision
