Senior Business Analyst Reserve Bank of Australia
Full time fixed term salaried contract until January 2027.
Position Overview You will be responsible for requirements gathering, business analysis, procurement activities, and process definition across the Cyber Data Protection Program, working closely with fellow Business Analysts who are passionate about delivering exceptional analysis services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in banking or financial services, and experience working in an Agile‑Waterfall hybrid environment. This role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams to define, document, and deliver data protection solutions aligned with regulatory and business requirements.
Mandatory Requirements
Minimum
5 years' experience
as a Business Analyst in
financial services or banking.
Proven experience in
Cybersecurity,
Data Protection, or
Information Governance
programs.
Experience working in
Agile‑Waterfall hybrid delivery models.
Proficiency in
requirements gathering,
process mapping, and
stakeholder engagement.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Plan and manage the Business Analysis approach to any project or BAU initiatives.
Design and implement strategies for gathering, reviewing and analysing data requirements.
Translate complex business, strategic and technical information concisely for diverse audiences.
Understand, document and communicate the objectives, drivers and business value proposition of a change.
Create representative and conceptual models, prototypes, mock‑ups and business and technical specifications.
Perform solution evaluation during procurement, Proof of Concept, pilot and post implementation phases to ensure appropriate quality and fitness for purpose.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience with
Microsoft Purview
or other data protection tools.
Familiarity with
risk and compliance frameworks
(e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
Exposure to
cloud platforms
(Azure, AWS) and
data governance tools.
Experience working with
technical teams
to translate business requirements into actionable solutions.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to collaborate, influence and partner effectively with key stakeholders across the Reserve Bank and externally.
Experience with
Confluence
for documentation and collaboration.
Proficiency in
JIRA
for backlog management, user stories, and sprint tracking.
Familiarity with other cooperative tools such as
Microsoft Teams,
SharePoint,
Miro, or
Slack.
Exposure to
Agile ceremonies
and tools supporting hybrid delivery models.
