Hours per fortnight ***** hours per fortnight - flexible options available.
Duties Receive and record inquiries and complaints under the Ombudsman Act ****, and, where appropriate, resolve enquiries and complaints directly with the service provider.
Obtain information and assess complaints, identifying opportunities for early resolution, and formulating recommendations to address issues raised.
Liaise with complainants, public authorities and other relevant individuals and agencies.
Prepare correspondence and reports resulting from the resolution and assessment process.
Assist with administrative and clerical tasks associated with the Ombudsman's functions including use of the case management system and other records management systems.
Essential Requirements Current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (Registration Status - Employment) or ability to acquire one.

The following checks are to be conducted: Pre-employment (National Police Record) checks for: Arson and fire setting, violent crimes and crimes against the person, sex-related offences, drug and alcohol related offences, crimes involving dishonesty, deception and/or conspiracy, making false declarations, malicious damage and destruction to property, serious traffic offences, crimes against public order or relating to the Administration of Law and Justice, Executive or the Legislative Power.

• A law degree or other relevant tertiary qualification
