The role
The ER Advisor is responsible for end to end general and complex case management, supporting leaders and employees across their business portfolios.
As a member of the Employment Relations Centre of Excellence team, ER Advisors are qualified HR professionals who use their technical and professional skills and knowledge to advise on employee and industrial relations issues.
In a role with high business exposure, ER Advisors are responsible for managing formal performance, conduct, and absence matters, as well as internal investigations, grievances, disputes, and external claims.
Position Accountabilities
* Maintain accurate and up to date records of all matters handled, including effective use of the relevant HRIS modules to track chronology, notes, incidents, actions and outcomes
* Work collaboratively with the Senior People Business Partners and the People Advisor, ensuring that the group is informed, as appropriate, on case management updates
* Support Senior People Business Partners and People Advisors with expert ER advice and guidance as required to align with strategic people plan for shared client group.
* Identify trends and insights through case management and propose root cause or systemic issues that could be resulting in such trends for further investigation
* Participate in and support a range of strategic HR projects as directed by the Head of ER, Remuneration and Safety
* Actively seek out recommendations for case management procedural changes, both internally through stakeholder change requests or feedback and best practice or legislative changes in the external environment
* Maintain up to date understanding of relevant legislation, promptly raising items for consideration with the Head of ER, Remuneration and Safety
* Prepare reporting as required
* Facilitate leadership upskill sessions as required, leveraging expert case management, ER and IR knowledge to lift capability of the leadership cohort
What Experience You’ll Bring
* Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business or other relevant qualification(s)
* 1–2 years of ER/IR specific experience or 2–3 years HR generalist experience, including exposure to employment legislation, case management and advisory services to employees and leaders
* Demonstrated ability to effectively manage conflicting priorities of diverse client needs and expectations within a changing environment
* Confidence to work across most leadership levels and manage varying stakeholder expectations
* Resourceful logical thinker, high sense of urgency with excellent attention to detail
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent administrative skills
* Demonstrated propensity to discretion and confidentiality
* Ability to deliver expected outcomes and initiatives and act on opportunities for improvement
* Strong ability to synthesise information, analyse data and provide a summary of analysis
* Advanced skill level in MS applications and HR systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
* Team-oriented, and results-focused

This role is available at any of our Brisbane (North Lakes) and Sunshine Coast (Kawana) locations providing flexibility to choose the office that suits you.
