Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Trades Worker to join our workshop team.
In this hands-on role, you will accurately mark out, cut, form, assemble and finish sheet-metal components used in fencing, gates and backyard products.
You will work from technical drawings and job specifications to produce high-quality parts that meet our standards for durability and fit-for-purpose fencing systems.
* Key Responsibilities
* Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings and job specifications to determine materials and processes.
* Check sizes, gauges and tolerances of steel stock and components against specifications.
* Cut, punch, drill, bend and form sheet steel (including Colorbond where required) using hand and power tools, shears, press brakes, rollers and folding machines.
* Set up and operate fabricating machines and computer-assisted metalworking equipment; develop efficient nesting/layouts when required.
* Product Assembly
* Weld, trim, deburr, grind and finish assemblies to a high standard; inspect parts and make adjustments to meet quality specifications.
* Assemble gates, posts, rails and panel components ready for dispatch or installation.
* Maintenance and Safety
* Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery and report faults.
* Follow safe work practices, use PPE and help maintain a clean, organised workshop.
* Cooperate with installation crews and warehouse staff to ensure correct handover of finished goods.
