The Position
This role is responsible for developing, delivering and facilitating education, training and engagement programs that promote waste reduction, reuse and resource recovery across the region. Working with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, you will lead community education, communications and behaviour change initiatives that encourage sustainable waste practices and support Council's transition to a circular economy.
You will design and deliver targeted education and marketing campaigns, including initiatives addressing littering and illegal dumping, and build strong partnerships with schools, community groups, businesses and external organisations. The role also involves providing expert advice, creating engaging digital content, representing Council in relevant forums, and collaborating across departments to ensure coordinated, effective delivery of waste education and resource recovery initiatives.
About You
* Experience delivering education programs and developing engaging resources for diverse audiences.
* Strong communication, project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Confidence creating digital content and managing social media, including use of tools such as Adobe.
* Sound written and administrative capability, including report and grant writing.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Demonstrated alignment with Council's behavioural competencies.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar systems.
