Work Health and Safety Officer Role Overview
Job Summary
The Work Health and Safety (WHS) Officer will provide administrative and operational support to the WHS and Injury Management Department. This includes providing assistance with workplace health and safety matters, managing injury reports, and conducting risk assessments.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide administrative support to the WHS team including data entry, document management, and correspondence;
* Assist with workplace health and safety matters including hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measures;
* Manage injury reports, investigate incidents, and recommend control measures;
* Conduct regular site visits to monitor workplace conditions and ensure compliance with WHS regulations;
* Develop and implement WHS policies and procedures;
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A strong understanding of work health and safety principles and practices;
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
* Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions;
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word;
* High level of organization and time management skills;
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information;
