About the Role
Our client is seeking a Senior URD Design Project Manager to lead the delivery of subdivision and infrastructure design projects. This senior leadership role is accountable for technical compliance, client satisfaction, and design governance across multiple project teams.
The role involves high-level oversight, approvals, and strategic input, while also managing relationships with key clients, utilities, and authorities. It demands a combination of technical expertise, leadership strength, and commercial acumen to ensure successful project outcomes, delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage multiple URD design projects and project teams, ensuring full compliance with Energex standards, regulations, and client specifications.
* Provide technical oversight and guidance, including review and sign-off of critical design deliverables.
* Mentor and develop Design Project Managers and team members to build internal capability and support succession planning.
* Manage key client relationships, acting as the escalation point for complex projects and technical issues.
* Oversee project budgets, resources, and delivery schedules across the design portfolio.
* Drive continuous improvement across design processes, systems, and delivery models.
* Ensure design governance and quality assurance frameworks are implemented and consistently followed.
* Work closely with senior leadership to support business planning, pipeline development, and strategic growth initiatives.
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 5 years of experience in URD/subdivision design and project delivery, including direct experience with Energex (or equivalent utility) standards.
* Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, teams, and deadlines.
* Strong project and resource management experience in a consulting, contracting, or utility environment.
* Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including experience liaising with utilities, councils, and private sector clients.
* Advanced problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to navigate complex design and delivery challenges.
