Batchfire is currently seeking a Supervisor Open Cut Examiner (OCE) to perform two core functions within the Mining team. This permanent full-time role is a long-term career opportunity with an attractive package.
As an appointed Supervisor, you will:
* Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders
* Monitor productivity, team member development and leave management
* Apply the Safety & Health Management System (SHMS) within the mining work area.
* Monitor mining activities and ensure safe operations.
In the capacity as an appointed Open Cut Examiner (OCE),
* Fulfil the statutory role of an Open Cut Examiner (OCE) as outlined under the Coal Mining Safety and Health Regulations 2017.
Key Activities
Your responsibilities as a Supervisor OCE will include:
* Lead production crews to achieve targets in accordance with mine plans and safety, policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
* Fulfil the statutory obligations of an Open Cut Examiner (OCE);
* Identify and control of hazards within the mining environment and ensure compliance with the Safety & Health Management System (SHMS);
* Contribute to review and development of risk assessments, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and participate in incident investigations.
* Form an integral role in the management of site emergencies;
* Demonstrate a commitment to safety and positive working behaviours.
Who are we looking for?
To be considered for this role, you will have the following:
* Current C Class Drivers Licence
* Supervisory qualifications – S1/S2/S3/G2;
* Extensive supervisory experience in mining operations;
* Demonstrated experience supervising a team to deliver against targets;
* Extensive knowledge of the Coal Mining Safety & Health Act 1999 and Coal Mining Safety & Health Regulation 2017
* Working knowledge of the QLD Explosives Act 1999 and the QLD Explosives Regulation 2017
* Current QLD Open Cut Examiner (OCE) ticket;
* RIIENV301E Conduct atmospheric monitoring
* Open cut examiner Certificate of Proficiency in Mine Gases and Gas Testing
* A current practising certificate for an Open Cut Examiner (OCE)
* Ability to pass a Coal Board Medical
* A strong sense of personal accountability and holding people to account for their actions;
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
* Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team.
