Your New Role
Reporting to the Manager Engineering Design and Technical Services, you will play a key role in administering Council's Road Reserves Policy. You'll assess applications, issue permits, monitor works, and ensure compliance with legislative and Council requirements.
Responsibilities
* Processing permits and approvals for works within road reserves (e.g., Section 138, utility works, hoardings and awnings)
* Assessing development applications and reviewing engineering plans
* Conducting site inspections to ensure compliance with approvals and standards
* Investigating non‐compliant works and working with stakeholders to resolve issues
* Liaising with utility providers, contractors, and internal teams
* Maintaining accurate records and contributing to compliance systems
* Delivering responsive, high‐quality customer service
Qualifications
* Experience in civil construction, development assessment, or infrastructure compliance
* Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and relevant legislation
* Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
* Excellent time management and organisational ability
* A commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant systems
