Looking for your next step into project leadership?
Want to shape the delivery of Australia’s most exciting onshore wind and hybrid energy projects?
This is a brilliant opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer or a technically strong consultant with a background in renewable energy, infrastructure, or utilities, looking to broaden their experience in an advisory role.
You’ll work on some of the most high-profile clean energy developments in the country, building the commercial and coordination skills that lead directly to Project Manager or Team Lead roles within a global energy consultancy.
About the Role
Working as part of a specialist renewables advisory team, you’ll be supporting wind farm and hybrid projects through pre-feasibility, planning, engineering coordination, and execution advisory. This is not a site-based delivery role, it’s a commercial-facing position with direct exposure to energy developers, investors, and infrastructure clients.
You’ll coordinate technical inputs from internal specialists (electrical, grid, environmental, geotechnical, etc.) and be responsible for driving schedules, communicating across stakeholders, and ensuring timely delivery of key advisory workstreams.
You’ll also be given mentoring, stretch opportunities, and a clear career path into Project Manager roles as you prove yourself in the business.
Your Responsibilities
* Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering and planning inputs across large-scale onshore wind developments
* Track project timelines, resourcing, and milestones, ensuring deliverables are on time and budget
* Support the preparation of technical reports, risk registers, due diligence documents and grid connection strategy
* Liaise directly with clients and external stakeholders to clarify scope, resolve issues, and manage updates
* Participate in internal project reviews, approvals, and regular progress meetings
* Assist in the identification of risks and potential issues, proactively recommending solutions
* Contribute to proposal preparation, project bids, and internal business development initiatives
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need to have been a Project Manager but you do need to be ready to grow into one.
This role is ideal for candidates with 4 – 6 years of experience in renewables, infrastructure, or engineering consulting who are looking for a next step into high-impact projects and client-facing leadership.
Must-haves:
* A degree in engineering, energy, or a relevant technical field
* Solid grounding in renewable energy, infrastructure, utilities or transmission environments
* Strong organisational and coordination skills, you’re across detail but comfortable with complexity
* Excellent verbal and written communication
* A natural collaborator who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven team
* Full working rights for Australia and ability to work hybrid from Melbourne or Perth
Nice-to-haves:
* Exposure to wind, solar, or battery projects
* Familiarity with permitting, grid connection or environmental approvals
* Experience working with energy developers, technical advisors, or infrastructure investors
Why Apply?
* Make your mark in the energy transition high-impact projects with real-world outcomes
* Step out of pure engineering into a more strategic, commercial advisory role
* Join a global firm with proven pathways to Project Manager and beyond
* Supportive team culture with hybrid flexibility and international exposure
