Position: Driver Team Leader (AM Bulk Operations)
Location: Goulburn, NSW
Work Hours : 5am - 1:30 pm (Mon - Fri) + Potential Overtime shifts
Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

As a Driver Team Leader your major responsibilities are to support BULK Supervisors and Depot Operations undertake the delivery of palletised freight, parcel freight and loose items within a set area, carry out pick-ups as required as well as actively participate in on the job training of new drivers.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Present to your shift at the required commencement time in a fit, safe and healthy manner;

· Perform daily vehicle/equipment checks; and report any vehicle associated defects to the regional supervisor immediately;

· Actively participate in on the job training with new driver(s);

· Ensure booked deliveries are executed timely and efficiently;

· Load, unload, scan, deliver and pick-up your freight/consignments accordingly in the allocated vehicle at all times and assist other drivers with these tasks where required or necessary;

· Deliver, pickup freight safely and efficiently, whilst working in line with customer and delivery timeframes;

· All freight, parcels/items/pallets must have accompanying documentation, consignment notes/labels/pallet transfer dockets/manifest and must be signed by the customer/receiver, delivered as an authorised ATL or Depot Returned;

· Ensure that PDA usage i.e. Loading, Ordering, Delivery and Pick-up PDA functions are performed in line with Direct Freight's requirements; this includes Card left, Authority to Leave and Return procedures and correct receiver's signing PDA as proof of delivery not drivers;

· Ensuring Pallet movements and Return procedures are performed as per Direct Freight's requirements;

· Ensure that a customer's/receivers safety rules are adhered to utilising the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE);

· Conduct yourself in a professional, safe and courteous manner at all times;

· Perform tasks outside of your position description as instructed by management;

· Assist training with training new drivers and improving existing drivers;

· Perform tasks outside of your position description as instructed by the Direct Freight management team.

· Ensure fleet maintenance is up to date by booking services / report defects.

· Respond to customer services emails / Phone calls.

KEY POSITION CAPABILITIES

· Have exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and multiskilling to meet deadlines;

· Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills;

·Sound knowledge and experience of the local transport industry;

·Good understanding of the road-freight logistics process;

· Quick creative problem solving & ability to handle high levels of pressure;

· Ability to learn & adapt to changing needs & requirements from customers;

· Sound geographical knowledge;

· Ability to effectively train and mentor new drivers in freight management, PDA functions, load plans, securing and restraining freight, customer services and the safe operation of the company vehicle;

· Hold the appropriate license to operate your allocated vehicle and/or forklift.

What we need from you:

· Min 2 years experience within a similar role/industry (desirable)

· MR/HR Drivers License (MR Minimum)

· Manual driving experience (Essential)

· Forklift licence (Essential)

· Team Leader experience (Desirable)

· Current licence history report for the previous five (5) years.

· A high level of understanding for safe work practices relevant to the industry.

· Sound knowledge of Goulburn areas

· Professional and reliable working attitude
