Are you passionate about bushfire prevention and community safety?
We have seasonal and casual Fire Tower Operator opportunities available throughout the expected bushfire period.
This role involves working at heights, in remote areas of the ACT, with variable hours that may change depending on Fire Danger Ratings.
You will be responsible for monitoring our Territory from fire towers, supporting early detection of bushfires during the declared bushfire season.
To succeed in this role, you will need to be comfortable working independently, with good communication skills, and able to work outside normal business hours, including weekends.
Eligibility requirements include a current 'C' class driver's licence, Background and Security clearance checks, and a pre-employment medical.
You will also need to obtain and maintain a Working with Vulnerable People registration.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in emergency services or a related field, and possess a reasonable level of fitness.
A minimum C class driver's licence is essential, with Class Medium Rigid (MR) or above being highly regarded.
