Senior Podiatrist - Northern Western Australia
We are seeking a Senior Podiatrist for a locum, fixed-term, or permanent role within a multidisciplinary team in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
The role involves providing services in an inpatient setting with an ASAP start date.
Options Available:
Locum position: 2+ months, hourly rate from $70-$75 + super
Fixed-term or permanent: 6-12 months, annual salary of $117,882-$125,255 + super + regional allowances
Caseload Focus:
Deliver high-quality, timely podiatric care aligned with primary health care principles.
Provide comprehensive podiatry services across the region to enhance patient quality of life.
Contribute to the strategic direction of the health service, including budget planning.
Participate in planning, development, and evaluation of the Podiatry service, including high-risk foot care.
Provide advanced clinical care and act as a Podiatry Clinical Consultant for advisory, educational, and mentoring roles.
Driving license required.
Workload: 76 hours per fortnight.
Experience in remote/Aboriginal health is desirable.
Subsidised accommodation available; travel reimbursement TBC based on contract.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential tertiary qualification in Podiatry and registration eligibility with the Podiatry Board of Australia.
Experience and advanced skills in treating high-risk foot conditions and a variety of podiatric conditions in adults and children.
Leadership and governance experience, including supervision and caseload management.
Understanding of primary health care principles.
Excellent communication skills, including IT proficiency, conflict resolution, and negotiation.
Knowledge of working in cross-cultural settings, especially relating to Aboriginal health.
The region offers rich Indigenous culture, natural wonders like the Staircase to the Moon, and activities such as fishing, crabbing, whale watching, and turtle nesting.
