Primary objective
Provide sound professional advice critical in dealing with significant issues related to assessment, planning, review, evaluation, and
coordination of education programs in defined practice area.
Context statement
Utilising extensive, evidence-based practices relevant to the remote nursing context, the successful applicant will provide
education, training, clinical and systems advice and support to Primary Health Care clinicians across PHC operations in urban and/or
remote Central Australia. A current NT manual driver's licence, or ability to obtain one and a willingness and ability to travel by
road or light aircraft to remote communities for negotiated periods is required to fulfil the inherent responsibilities of this role.
Afterhours on-call duties will be required for negotiated periods.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Collaborate in the development and implementation of education programs to support professional development needs of
healthcare workers and address inconsistencies between practice and policy within the defined practice area.
2. Support delivery of excellence in nursing/midwifery care by modelling advanced knowledge, skills, and behaviours for the
provision of client care and working alongside less experienced staff to develop appropriate skills, knowledge, abilities, and
attitudes.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same.
2. Demonstrated education/training or experience in the development and/or delivery of education theory and practice.
3. Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge in an area of nursing/midwifery relating to this vacancy, and application of adult
learning principles using a range of modes/methods to enable delivery of high quality clinical and education practice.
4. Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate education programs to better meet organisational needs and/or
address new and emerging developments.
5. Demonstrated use of effective communication skills to maximise productive working relationships with internal and external
stakeholders and facilitate a positive learning environment.
1. Demonstrates and applies well-developed knowledge and understanding of the social and cultural issues, influences and
sensitivities that influence healthcare and delivery of education programs.

1. Graduate Diploma, or equivalent, beyond entry to practice relevant to specialty area.

The preferred or recommended applicant will be required to hold a current working with children clearance notice and undergo a
