IT Business Analyst
Kogan People Solutions are working with a rapidly growing IT service business dedicated to empowering a wide variety of clients across the Gippsland region. Established in 2014, they specialise in delivering practical, modern, and scalable IT solutions that drive business efficiency and growth. They are seeking a proactive and client-focused ICT Business Analyst to work with them as they continue to grow their business activity.
This is a full time ongoing position based in Leongatha, where you will be integral to defining, analysing, and delivering impactful IT projects for their diverse client base.
* Location: Based in Leongatha, Victoria. Regular travel will be required to client sites across Gippsland and as necessary, beyond.
* Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 + Superannuation per annum
Key Responsibilities
As their IT Business Analyst, your core focus will be translating business challenges into clear IT requirements.
1. Requirements discovery and Analysis
* Conduct in-depth analysis of client business processes, workflows, and operational gaps through workshops and interviews.
* Document detailed functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for proposed IT solutions (e.g., system upgrades, cloud migrations, software implementations).
* Facilitate requirements sign-off with key business owners and stakeholders.
2. Solution Consulting and Design
* Act as the subject matter expert, recommending appropriate IT solutions and technologies that align with the client's size, budget, and strategic goals.
* Work alongside technical architects to ensure solution designs are viable, cost-effective, and meet all defined business needs.
* Present complex technical findings and recommendations clearly to non-technical SME clients.
3. Stakeholder and Change Management
* Build strong, professional relationships with multiple SME clients and internal technical teams.
* Manage project scope, assessing the impact of proposed changes on delivery timelines and budgets.
* Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and facilitate post-implementation training and handover.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Your application must demonstrate your ability to positively address the following:
* Proven professional experience as an IT Business Analyst (or similar) of at least 1 or more years since gaining your qualifications.
* A relevant qualification (e.g., bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or related field) OR equivalent demonstrated professional experience (e.g., 3+ years).
* Solid understanding of various requirements gathering methodologies and modelling techniques (e.g., use cases, process mapping).
* Familiarity with common technology landscapes, including cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365) and business-critical applications (CRM, ERP, etc.).
* Prior experience in the education sector — or having worked within an educational environment — will be considered an added advantage.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
You must have unrestricted full time Australian working rights to be considered.
