About your opportunity: * Undertake and successfully complete the Australian Institute of Orthopaedic Technologies (AIOT) training modules, theory exams and practical assessments level 1-4 as provided by Queensland Health. * Under direct supervision of a Certificate 4 completed plaster technician and within traineeship scope conduct orthopaedic casting and appliance applications in consultation with and as requested by Medical Officers and the multi-disciplinary team. * Maintain an acceptable standard of technical proficiency through ongoing development of knowledge and skills in plaster application, fracture types and anatomy. * Work in clinical areas (Inpatient and outpatient and Emergency Department) under direct supervision and set priorities of care in consultation with the Nurse Unit Manager Surgical Specialist Clinics and the Clinical Director of Orthopaedics.
