About the opportunity

The University of Canberra's Faculty of Health is seeking an accomplished academic leader to join our Discipline of Speech Pathology as a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in advancing the discipline's teaching, research, and professional engagement.

In this role, you will mentor and inspire academic staff, contribute to innovative and high-quality teaching in our Masters program, and lead impactful research that strengthens the profession and community outcomes. You will also foster strong relationships with industry partners, professional associations, and key stakeholders locally, nationally, and internationally.

For the right candidate, there is the opportunity to take on the role of Discipline Lead, providing strategic leadership for the Speech Pathology team. Discipline Leaders guide academic direction, ensure accreditation standards are met, and promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.


About You

* A PhD in Speech Pathology or a closely related field.
* Eligible for (or currently hold) Certified Practising Speech Pathologist status with Speech Pathology Australia.
* A track record of internationally recognised research publications, higher degree research student supervision and success in securing grant funding.
* High level interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate and establish effective relationships with staff, students and industry stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

* Provide strategic leadership for the Discipline of Speech Pathology in education and research.
* Mentor and support academic staff to enhance teaching quality and research outcomes.
* Deliver innovative, high-quality teaching in the Masters program and contribute to curriculum design.
* Develop and maintain strong partnerships with industry, professional associations, and government stakeholders.
