Student and Family Support Specialist

As a Student and Family Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting vulnerable children and young people to re-engage with education.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with families, schools, and community agencies to identify and address barriers to education engagement and attainment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing support to students who are disengaged from education and working with them to develop strategies to re-engage them in learning.
* Identifying needs and participating in the referral and planning of services for children, parents, and families to community agencies such as health and welfare.
* Acting as the contact for parents/carers and the community to determine relevant issues for improved relationships between the school and community.
* Providing assessment and brief intervention with students and parents to assist them to identify and address barriers to engaging with education.
Requirements:
* Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable children and young people.
* Strong understanding of the factors contributing to educational disengagement.
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and case management skills.
