If you're an experienced Practice Administrator based around Essendon and have worked within an accounting
public practice
, this is a role where you can genuinely make it your own.
This is a hands-on position within a well-established accounting firm that values trust, consistency and good people. You'll be the steady presence behind a busy team, bringing structure, accuracy and calm to day-to-day operations. It's ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and wants to feel truly valued rather than just "supporting from the sidelines".
The role
Working closely with the wider team, you'll play a key role in keeping the practice organised, compliant and running efficiently.
Your day-to-day will include:
* Preparing client and compliance documentation, including trust distribution minutes and ATO lodgement support
* Managing and maintaining accurate client records in MPM
* Supporting invoicing across the practice, including WIP monitoring, debtors follow-up and reporting
* Assisting with ATO correspondence, lodgements and record management via SmartDocs
* Providing administrative support to the superannuation team and assisting with related documentation
* Working collaboratively with the wider team to ensure smooth, well-organised day-to-day operations
About you
You've worked in an accounting
public practice
before and understand how important accuracy, deadlines and client service are in that environment. You're organised, reliable and proactive, and you enjoy taking ownership rather than waiting to be asked.
You'll bring:
* Proven experience in an accounting public practice (essential)
* Hands-on exposure to invoicing, WIP and ATO-related administration
* Familiarity with MPM, SmartDocs or similar practice management systems
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* A calm, practical approach and a genuine team mindset
Why this role stands out
This is a genuinely supportive, close-knit team with a great culture. People enjoy working here, help each other out, and take pride in doing things properly. You'll be trusted to run your area, encouraged to contribute ideas, and valued for the role you play in keeping everything moving.
It's a great long-term opportunity for someone local to the area who wants stability, ownership, and a workplace where culture actually means something.
