Project Engineer Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Project Engineer to play a key role in the successful early contractor involvement in the design and pre-construction development of major water infrastructure projects across South Australia.
This includes pipeline installation, tank construction and rehabilitation, pump stations, and water treatment facilities. The selected candidate will have continuous project exposure, facilitating the further development of technical and project management skills.
The role involves working with a skilled and efficient team to ensure cost-effective construction methodologies and identify improvement areas.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure cost-effective construction methodologies and identify improvement areas.
* Track project finances, review costs vs. budget, and highlight margin impacts.
* Early involvement in design and investigation kick-off meetings, ensuring development of schedules, planning, and risks have been covered off prior to submissions.
* Prepare variations, claims, and subcontract agreements.
* Assess risks, implement hazard controls, and support incident investigations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction/Project Management.
* 4+ years of Project Engineering experience in the Water, utilities, or transport spaces is highly desirable.
* Ability to communicate and liaise effectively with people at all levels, and other stakeholders as required.
* Strong in using Microsoft Office software and other relevant computer applications.
