Job Description
At Alternaleaf, our doctors combine evidence-based practice with innovation to support thousands of patients across Australia. We're looking for experienced, reliable and committed Medical Practitioners to join our telehealth team on a contractor basis.
The role
- Deliver high-quality telehealth consultations across a diverse patient base
- Manage clinical assessments, prescriptions (S4 & S8), and follow-up consults
- Embrace digital tools to optimise patient outcomes and service efficiency
- Work closely with nurses and doctor support teams to streamline care
- Maintain complete documentation and compliance in a digital-first environment
Qualifications
- Unrestricted AHPRA registration (Minimum PGY4)
- Experience in emergency, urgent care, high-volume GP, or telehealth settings will be highly regarded
- Excellent time management with the ability to confidently manage 10–15 minute consults (6 patients/hour)
- Familiarity with privacy laws, RTPM, S8 regulation, and medico-legal obligations
- Solid clinical judgement, with an evidence-based and harm-reduction mindset
- Strong documentation/admin skills
- Comfortable working with multiple digital platforms and navigating tech efficiently
- Punctual, reliable and responsive – you value team collaboration and patient continuity
Pre-employment & Training
- Online Pre-assessment: Shortlisted applicants will be required to complete and pass online technical testing via our testing partner prior to being considered for interview
- Initial Training: Successful applicants will need to be available for initial training from Monday to Thursday within business hours during week one
- The Education team will provide onboarding and ensure you are equipped to run consults; you will have a designated Doctor Support Team Leader for queries during clinic operating hours, including monthly 1:1’s and fortnightly data reports
