Responsibilities
* The Food Services Assistant (Care Services Assistant) plays a pivotal frontline carer role with a focus on nutrition and dining, delivering person-centred care and support according to residents' needs and preferences.
* Assist in the preparation, delivery, presentation and serving of resident meals.
* Provide care and support aligned with residents' preferred daily routines with a strong focus on meal choices, nutrition and dining experience.
* Assist with meal selection and meal timing preferences; prepare and set up dining areas to meet individual needs.
* Engage with residents to provide social and emotional support during mealtimes; foster a positive dining environment.
* Promote resident choice and dignity; maintain dining area standards and accurate nutrition/diet information.
* Maintain kitchen stock and assist with food safety practices in accordance with the Food Safety Plan and Dining Framework.
To Be Successful, You Will Have
* Demonstrated customer service skills
* A compassionate and caring attitude
* Previous restaurant and/or commercial kitchen experience (highly regarded)
* Willingness to take direction from others
* Reliability and shift flexibility
* Good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure
* Valid working rights in Australia
* Ability to complete a police check
* NDIS Worker Screen (or willingness to obtain)
