The Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission (VGCCC) is an independent statutory authority which regulates Victoria's gambling industry. The organisation licenses, informs and educates, monitors, and enforces the gambling industry through a risk-based approach to regulation. The opportunity
The Assistant Director role is a new position in the Gambling Division which will report to the Director Gambling. The Assistant Director is a leadership position responsible for leading a major regulatory modernisation change program related to Licencing and Compliance functions to drive and embed specialised and digitised end to end regulatory approach across non-Casino gambling in Victoria. The successful applicant will also provide professional leadership to licensing and compliance units, assist in the development of staff while managing operations to maintain consistent practice application of licensing, monitoring, compliance, and enforcement functions as a standard across gambling industry segments.

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
1. An understanding or demonstrate capacity to learn and apply associated legislation and agreements.
2. An understanding of economic objectives, inclusive of harm minimisation, and contemporary best practice in the regulation of the gambling industry.
3. experience in a complex regulatory environment and an understanding of change management.
Key responsibilities
4. Provide implementation science and change management expertise and leadership to ensure the effective delivery and uptake of modern regulatory practice changes
5. Provide authoritative advice and leadership on the development modern end-to-end regulatory approaches across gambling industry segments in Victoria
6. Champion, manage and lead a multidisciplinary licensing and compliance units and provide professional leadership and development of staff to enable effective implementation and inspire teams
7. Lead a wide scale change program while overseeing the effective, efficient, and timely operational performance of licencing and compliance teams
8. Lead the digital transformation project on behalf of the Gambling Division to ensure modern regulatory practice are embedded for all non-Casino gambling industry segments in Victoria
