Mine Geologist Job Description
As a Mine Geologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the geology and mining departments' health, safety, and environmental objectives.
The primary responsibilities include:
* Providing technical support to operations and contributing to the sustainable supply of rare earth metals.
* Managing day-to-day grade control activities via geological mapping, ore mark-ups, and monitoring ore quality through ore spotting and stockpile management.
* Assisting with assay data analysis, ore block designs, drill designs, end-of-mine reconciliation, and other projects.
* Assisting with exploration work to discover, expand, and further define the Mt Weld ore body through drilling, including geological logging of reverse circulation and diamond drill holes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess solid experience with software packages including Surpac, AcQuire, and MS Office tools.
They should also have a solid understanding of grade control processes and quality control, including QA/QC standards.
Familiarity with best practice, safety, environment management processes is also required.
