Position Overview
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Investment Operations, this role sits within the Investment Operations and Performance team and is responsible for managing the relationship with the custodian, as well as overseeing custody and middle-office services.
The team comprises four main functions that support all investment-related activities, including Portfolio Operations, Investment Operations Delivery, Investment Data Operations, and Performance Reporting.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage portfolio operations including pricing & valuation checks, transaction management, OTC derivatives support, reconciliations, corporate actions, and regulatory reporting;
* Oversee the Custodian's middle-office services and ensure quality assurance of outputs;
* Support collateral management activities including CSA/ISDA setup, valuations, reconciliations, disputes, and reporting;
* Monitor service requests, SLAs, KPIs, and operational risks with outsourced providers;
* Use platforms such as SimCorp Dimension, Bloomberg, and MarkitSERV to support operational activities;
* Manage onboarding/offboarding of portfolios, trusts, managers, transitions, transfers, and account closures;
* Coordinate broker and counterparty onboarding activities including AML/KYC requirements;
* Oversee Eagle Managed Services (EMS) delivery and investment data operations;
* Perform data quality assurance, issue resolution, and trend analysis across investment data domains;
* Ensure data availability and hold vendors accountable for delivery standards;
* Support data analytics initiatives and strategic projects;
* Assist with data vendor management and stewardship of key data domains.
Knowledge and Experience
* 5+ years' experience in funds management, superannuation, custody, or similar, including operational experience with investment platforms such as SimCorp Dimension, Charles River, ThinkFolio, Aladdin, or Calypso;
* A tertiary qualification in commerce, economics, accounting, or equivalent;
* Well-developed problem-solving, critical thinking, and lateral thinking skills;
* Experience with third-party data and pricing vendors such as IDC, Bloomberg, FactSet, S&P, Markit, or SimCorp (ideal);
* Strong stakeholder management skills with both internal stakeholders and external service providers;
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office; Power BI experience is advantageous;
* Effective risk management capability, including formalising and embedding processes and controls, and recommending improvements to timeliness, accuracy, and independence.
