Overview
The W.A Carpentry Company is a growing, Perth-based construction business delivering high-quality commercial and residential carpentry projects across metropolitan and regional Western Australia. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and reliable 1st Year Apprentice Carpenter to join our team. This position is ideal for a recent school leaver or career starter who is serious about building a long-term career in the construction industry.
About the Role
You will work under the supervision of qualified Carpenters while undertaking a Certificate III in Carpentry. You will gain practical, hands-on experience across:
* Structural framing and cladding
* Roofing and decking
* Door installation, skirting and architraves
* Second fix and finishing work
* Residential repairs and maintenance
* Commercial construction projects
Our projects are site-based and located across Perth, with occasional regional work required.
Essential Requirements
* Current valid driver's licence
* White Card
* Own reliable vehicle (required due to varying job locations)
* Willingness to travel to different sites across Perth
* Strong work ethic and commitment to completing a four-year apprenticeship
* Reliable, punctual and able to follow direction
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency
No prior experience is required; however, a genuine interest in carpentry and a willingness to learn are essential.

Government Support Available to Eligible Apprentices
In addition to earning while you learn, eligible apprentices in priority trades (including carpentry) may access:
* Up to $10,000 in government incentive payments over the course of the apprenticeship (paid at milestone stages)
* Access to an interest-free Australian Apprenticeship Support Loan (up to approximately $25,000+) to assist with tools and living costs, with repayments only required once income exceeds the repayment threshold and a 20% reduction applied upon successful completion
Eligibility criteria apply and payments are administered through the Australian Apprenticeships system.
