About the Role
Support Workers Compensation leadership in the management of scheme and business risk. Support the design of relevant governance structures, frameworks, underlying risk and assurance processes including verifying the effectiveness of controls and contributing to the design, execution and reporting of control and assurance activities.

Duties
It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Risk & Assurance Specialist you will:
* Contribute to the Workers Compensation Controls Assurance plan, based on the Risk Profile. This includes risks, controls and outstanding/closed actions.
* Design and execute controls assurance activities in alignment with the assurance plan.
* Process control assessments and identify and resolve control gaps.
* Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders on the remediation of ineffective controls.
* Lead programs that involve reviews, audits or operational management in areas of risk and assurance in the Workers Compensation Scheme. This primarily includes partnering with stakeholders (internal and external) on the effective management of outsourced providers.
* Facilitate and collaborate with relevant subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand desired Claims Service Provider behaviors and customer outcomes, and design detailed work steps, review procedures and test plans for the review team’s execution.
* Provide primary operational support in the development and delivery of conduct risk strategies and focus on continuous improvement.
* Supporting WC Leadership team in the management of audit issues by providing Line 1 assurance oversight.
* Operationalise the risk framework and policy set by Line 2 Risk.
* Promote and encourage a positive risk culture.
* Contribute to a range of projects as required, to support the Risk & Quality Team.
* Support required risk related training activities, and assist with education, training and providing advice as necessary.
Skills & Experience
* 7+ years Risk Management experience operating in a highly regulated industry (banking, insurance) or Audit/Risk Advisory consulting experience in Financial Services industry
* Extensive experience in Risk and Control Assessments
* Exposure to Risk In Change for projects
* Experience in preparing Risk reports for senior management
* Strong communication and influencing skills
* Ability to engage in a collaborative manner with senior leaders
* Critical thinking and problem solving
* Self-starter and proactive
* Prioritisation and time management skills
* Working under pressure to deadlines
* A broad range of relevant workers compensation industry experience
