Help shape the future of tourism across one of Victoria's most diverse and creative regions City of Ballarat and Tourism Midwest Victoria (TMV) are looking for an energetic Sustainable Destination Development Officer to support the growth, innovation and sustainability of our regional visitor economy.

About The Role
As a key member of the Sustainable Destination Development team, you will:
Deliver industry strengthening programs that build capability across the region.
Provide high quality engagement and support to tourism operators, businesses and councils.
Coordinate product development initiatives and help grow "visitor ready" tourism experiences.
Advocate for and convert partnership opportunities with industry.
Analyse and communicate visitor economy data and insights.
Represent TMV at industry meetings, presentations and community events.
Collaborate with Marketing to elevate the region's profile and perception.
This role is all about relationships, creativity, and working with partners to deliver meaningful outcomes for the visitor economy.
This role is a 12-month parental leave contract with an anticipated start date in early April 2026. The annualised package ranges from $106,575 to $118,257 per annum and will dependent on level of experience. Statutory superannuation is in addition to the package figures.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
Degree qualified in Tourism/Visitor Economy (or relevant experience).‑
Experienced in project delivery and working with tourism or industry stakeholders.
Skilled at building relationships and providing excellent partner support.
Creative, confident and able to communicate effectively across diverse audiences.
Organised, proactive and capable of managing multiple priorities.
Competent with Microsoft Office and general administration.
Holding (or able to obtain) a Working with Children Check and Victorian Driver's Licence.
